So, sorry about the short notice, but my birthday Unlit will be THIS SATURDAY THE 15TH AUGUST. My very good friend Oli has said we can use his house. Which is amazing, cos it is basically the ultimate Unlit house. All you need to do is bring some booze and any friends you think would like the Unlit vibe, and get to Oli’s house on Mannock road in Turnpike Lane North London in SOME VERY GOOD FANCY DRESS (yes fancy dress! anything you like!) somewhere between 8 and 9.30pm this Saturday night.....and be prepared to have a brilliant time! What may be the last of the current run of Unlits will happen this friday at Jeff's place just off London Fields. As always, if you have seen this, you are welcome. Myshel Prasad (who I met at an Unlit in Boulder, Colorado) is flying over for this one. She studied with Ginsberg at the Naropa Institute before turning her poetic art to space-rock and forming the band Spaceteam Electra...an incredible performer, who knows what she will do for us on Friday.
Hafdis Huld is an Icelandic musical star (winning a best album award at the Icelandic Music Awards in 2006) and is just about to set off on a UK tour. But first she will be playing for us at Unlit.
Amongst and after those two, and other artists, Dave "Double D" Depares will be spinning his musical web on the decks and as the clock strikes three perhaps we will head out on to London Fields for a spot of tree-hugging....

Hey everyone,
My friend Tom is having a party to celebrate the opening his brand new studio which he has spent the last few months building on the top floor of a warehouse at the furthest eastern end of Cable St., near Limehouse, East London. It’s an amazing space and it promises to be a huge, wild and old school party - not often these days that you get a whole floor of a warehouse to play in.
He’s asked me to organise a bit of Unlit style activity to happen in the live room of the studio before the party gets in to full swing. So this Saturday, around 10pm, there will be performances from Louie from the band Semaphore (who did a great set at the Soho Revue Bar earlier in the year), the fabulous poet Tim Clare who performed at the last Stoke Newington Unlit. So, if you’re up for it, see you down there....a sort of Warehouse Unlit special...As with normal Unlits, it is free and open to anyone who wants to come...

It’s a two minute walk from Limehouse DLR, on the junction of Cable Street and Butcher’s Row. The entrance is 10 yards to the left of Club Red.
